The role of the GAA and the Gaelic League in the development of cultural nationalism in Ireland
In the 1870's and 1880's, a new type of nationalism emerged in Irelnad that was influenced by cultural rather than political issues. This new movement became known as cultural nationalism.The culture of a nation refers to its "way of life" and can include language, customs, traditions, food, manners, games, dress, music and dance. At the time Irish people were struggling with their identity. They spoke English, played English sports and many areas of everyday life were covered by English traditions.Their movements were tied to politics. cultural nationalism defined Irishness as beig different from the English.
On 1 November 1884 the Gaelic Athletic Association was officially formed at a meeting in Thurles. There were only seven people at this meeting. Two of them were John Cusack and Maurice Davitt, who was one of the most famous, respected and successul athletes in Ireland. The GAA was formed because the Irish played English games and they needed their own, otherwise another part of life would be covered by foreign traditions. The aims were to organise Irish sports according to Irish rules. These had to be drawn up and the membership was allowed to all classes. It was agreed that Davin should become the GAA's first president and Cusack was appointed secretary. Archbishop Croke, Parnell and Michael Davitt became patrons.
Throughout 1885 and 1886, the GAA developed very quickly. New clubs were formed and games and athletic meetings were organised. Similarly to the meetings of the Land League these were attended by large crowds.The clubs were established on parochial system, but a town was allowed to have more clubs if there were enough inhabitants. First inter-parish games were organised and this laid the basis for a national competition. In these clubs the Irish had the opportunity for the first time to take part in administration, organisation and set their own rules. One of these was the ban of joining any non-GAA athletic clubs for members. Archbishop Croke opposed this and it was dropped in 1886, as the inmediate opponent, the Irish Amateur Athletic Association failed. It was formed in February, 1885 by 5 Dublin based clubs.The GAA county Committees became a major center of the people's life.
The GAA did commence as a cultural movement, but was linked to political nationalism from the very start. His patrons were all linked to the IRB; Parnell, Davitt as founder of the Land League, John O'Leary, a former Fenian and Archbishop Croke, a firm nationalist. The GAA did not hide his sympathy for nationalist politics and it had two reasons; they did not want unionists to join tried to attract the IRB's interest. In November 1886, the GAA's second convention elected a new Genereal Council. All of the members, apart from Davin, were members of the IRB. Over the next year they banned RIC members from the GAA. Another key decision was to automatically appoint every Central Council member to a member of every County Committee. These political disputes nearly undid the success of the GAA.
Davin resigned in protest in May 1887 and there was also much opposition to the IRB takeover from the Home Rulers and the Catholic Church. At the GAA's third convention 200 delegates walked out and the IRB had to agree to compromise. On the next meeting Davin was re-appointed and the IRB's influence was reduced.
Although the original idea could be defended against politics another problem weakened the GAA. Parnell's private life, and the scandal on the divorce. The Catholic Church condemned Parnell's behaviour and the Home Rule Party split as well. So did the GAA's patrons, but the GAA, controlled by the IRB came out in support of Parnell, a minority viewpoint. The GAA formed a guard of honour at Parnell's funeral in 1891. The public saw the movement as a Parnellite organisation and remained in minority during the 1890's. At the annual meeting in 1892, only six counties with 200 clubs were represented. Some coutnties did not even have any clubs. The GAA did survive, and a revival of the association began in the 1900's. The GAA now focused on sports and stayed clear of politics. By 1914 the GAA was an enormous success. In 1913, ca 35,000 spectators attended the All-Ireland final and the works on the national stadium, Croke Park began.
The success of the GAA was helped by the Gaelic League. The Gaelic League was set up on 31 July, 1893, by 7 members. Their main aim was to stop the decline of Gailge as a spoken language. Since the early 19th century due to the Great Famine, emigration, the lack of education, the media and popular attitudes less and less spoke it. There were no classes in national schools for Irish, no Irish newspapers and the official language was English only. Many tried to deal with the problem, but the League suceeded. They proposed a bi-lingual society and the development of a modern Irish literature, too. The League grew slowly, and this only changed due to the nationalist feelings during the commemoration of the 1798 Rebellion. The League failed, where the GAA could survive; in 1915 the IRB took over. Douglas Hyde resigned in protest, but the League became part of the violent nationalism.
The Gaelic League was innovative in many ways. It was the first major organisation to admit men and women as equals. One of them was Lady Augusta Gregory. Lady gregory came from a prominent, unionist background and opposed Home Rule. However, she later came ot accept it. She was interested in Irish folklore and through her wealth and influence Lady Gregory was able to patronise Yeats and others. Yeats was born to a middle class , protestant family. He became interested in Irish folklore and was drawn towards nationalism. In 1888 Yeats helped to found the Pan-Celtic Society, their aim was to promote writing solely of Irish interest. He was founder of the Abbey Theatre as well.
Even though both the GAA and the Gaelic League were founded as on-political movements, they were influenced by the IRB. Their biggest legacy was that they provided something to the people which was their own and uniquely Irish. The people by joining these movements had the opportunity to organise and administreate. These skilled men later became the Irish politicans and ministers.

RuneScape is a Java based online MMORPG.The setting is a medieval fantasy world, with dragons, magicians, pirates and knights.The map is constantly changing, expanding as the developers add new parts.you manage a character; improving his skills such as fighting, magic, prayer, farming, fishing, wood cutting, cooking. There are over 10 Million active free accounts and about a million fee paying members.The fee depends on which country you live in, i don't know much about that as I'm a free member.
you can move the camera around your character.you can fight against monsters or against real players, you can do the second only in the wilderness. After a tutorial you begin in Lumbridge and from here on you discover the whole continent, or the parts you are allowed to as a free member.The quests you can do and get from non player characters(NPC) vary from very long to very short and include fighting, magic, sheering sheap or cooking pie.You mive around by clicking on the trerrain and use items by clicking on them.The game s flash so you don't have to download anything to your HardDrive.
That's the game ruffly, I think you either love it ore hate it.I love it for two weeks, than have something better to do and after four months I love it again for two weeks.

I'm looking forward to my Christmas exams.i'm studying.Today I took a look at the Trinity College Open Day.It is the opposite of a closed day I suppose :-D , anyway it wasn't really interesting.
I saw three fire trucks at Trinity, but it wasn't anytrhing serious.
More interesting observation I made on the world in general: a man and a woman arguing at the street, the man grabbing the women OR a women standing up in a restaurant and smashing a glass of water into the face of a man, then bursting out, and when she left everybody starts: "Did you see that?!".Now why do we assume straight away that the women are right? No offense but still, think about it. We do.

Crawdaddy
Crawdaddy is located at harcourt station, in da basement. It s a relatively small place compared to the neighbour Tripod. The easiest way to getthere is to take the LUAS (tram) from Stephen's Green and get off at the first station.
A beer costs 5E, there is no entrance fee.
The gigs are in a separate room , not too big a maximum of about 280 people I guess, although I'm not really good at guessing.
The place is not oriented in one style, I was at a ska gig, but saw electro posters as well. At this concert( The Slackers) people climbed on stage and the athmosphere was the best I've ever experienced. The security staff only ordered the people down hwen there were too many.

Today nthe new budget for Ireland was published.
More important on Sunday the best surfing weather hit the western coast; 13.2 m waves.
I had two English tests today.Yesterday a S-61N of the Irish Coast Guard howered just here before the coast of Shankill.
And on Saturday I og to the Slackers concert in Crawdaddy.
On monday we had a waterpolo game; only friendly but still 30-8 with me scoring 7.

The Death Of Attila
Attila, great king of the Huns returned from the walls of Rome, back to the capital of his Empire, his blood.
Wherever he passed, the Huns cheered and called his name.
The folk of the capital was especially happy. The space between the tents, where on normal days women and slaves rushed to srot out their tiny everyday problems, where the old sat or wanton children played, and learned how to use the sword and the bow while playing, now it was all free ; scavanged with besoms and covered with leafs; all the way Attila and his attendance got by to the glorious tent-palace.
This time the celebration was not only hold for the homecoming king and army, but Attila was going to marry.
Queen Réka rested in the forest of Rika at this time, her peace guarded by oaks, fountains and deers.
The arrival of the new wife was a great festivity, festivity it was the bridal either.
It was noon and the king's palace was full of folks celebrating. The floor was covered with scrumptious carpets, the wooden pillars with beautiful framework were entwined with flowers.
A mass of slaves served the food on golden and silver dishes, and placed them on golden and siver plates in front of the guests, and they filled the wine with a deep bow into the golden and silver pots.
In the middle of the gorgeous dressed crowd, a bit higher than the others, at a separate table, there sat Attila, king of the huns and his new bride. he watched the feast, which got more and more happy, with a calm and mighty face of a real emperor. This was not the only thing sign that made him different; he was dressed else than the crowd in their best clothes, he wore pure, ancestral hunnian clothes and had wooden pot and wooden plate in front of himself. He always had it like this, he did not want to make the gods angry with sumptuousness.
It was late night, when the king together with his new wife, mikolt withdrew to the inner house. And it was almost dawn, when the bridal party got quite, too.
But bitter sadness it was, when the huns woke up, Attila, the lash of God died on his weddingbed. He who did not fear any enemy on Earth, who survived so many bloody battles, of whom it was told that no weapon could harm him, he died. his blood floating from his nose it was what choked him. the young bride when realising what happened, ran out screaming from the tent, and wherever she passed, screaming and crying was in her path.
The whole nation of the huns turned into deep bereavement. The men cut their faces with knives and the women took their white clothes; the white was the colour of mourning.
Torda, the chief magician ordered the men to lead a white horse to the ground for acrafices. They need to know it from the Warlord how to bury Attila the most worthy.

Saighdiúirí agus Taoisigh
Tegnap voltam Collin's Barracks-ban, itt található a National Museum of Ireland.
Két okból mentem el megnézni:
Ki van állítva a Sea Stallion nevű viking hajó amit Roskildeben(Dánia) korabeli eszközökkel épített egy lelkes csapat éveken át, hogy végül ide Írországba hajózzanak ahogy azt az őseik tették.Mikor én Roskildeben jértam ez még epülőben volt(én pedig 180cm alatt).Gyönyörű. Hatalmat, erőt és dicsőséget sugároz, mégis kecses, valóban ilyennek képzeltem egy viking hajót, és most még jobban érdekel a hadtörténelmük.
A másik ok meg egyszerűen az volt hogy megnézzem a volt katonai barakkot.Itt van az egyetlen katonai témájú kiállítás, nem úgy mint nálunk egy külön múzeum. Felketette a figyelmemet egy s más a kiállításon például hogy különböző ír ezredek hány meg hány helyen harcoltak brit lobogó alatt, nagyon érdekes, annak ellenére hogy önálló modern hadtörténelme az országnak mint olyan nincsen.Érdekesnek találtam hogy a német mintájú sisakot vezették be az első világháború után és ezt aztán a második vh alatt az angol propaganda hogyan használta ki. A múzeum mint az Nyugaton szokás elég interaktív és gazdag(a gyűjtenényből ítélve).

There are games, the usual; car racing, motor racing......and table football.
Huge amount of TVs and projectors show Sports all the time.

Also heute ist dann auch nichts passiert.Ich habe jetzt ein bisschen Musik geholt; Less than Jake, mighty mighty bosstones.
In der Schule habe ich mein Esse in Geschichte zuruckgekriegt: A1.. in den zwei Freistunden habe ich meinen Dean mit dem Computer geholfen, jetzt weiss er wenigstens wer ich bin.
Das war's, ich habe auf dem Net gesurft und ein paar Messern gefunden die mir sehr gefallen, hmmm.

we had a waterpolo game and played bad: still we win 15 to 8 against the boarding school.
In the afternoon i had the interview at Stephen's Green club.They were late and we only got the results at 9pm, I do not go to Starsbourg. Anyway, I didn't feel sad about it as I have contacts (phone numbers of beautiful girls) and got some excellent books.
Thursday: a boring and long day in school.
Friday: almost the same just that had one more free class.

I visited ED yesterday and arrived somewhere at about 21:30. It is easy to find; everybody knows where it is and anyway.The address is 3a, Crown Alley, Temple bar.
(I don't know if I already mentioned it but Temple Bar is not a bar but a district and Croke Park is not a park but a stadium)
You just get off the DART at Tara Street and walk along the Liffey, Crown Alley will be just one of the small streets on your left.
There is NO entrance fee, very positive, and as everywhere you have to be over 18, you cannot cheat them, only if you have false ID.There were people at the age of 40 as well, so anybody can go there.
The music was very good; three bands played, two of them beginners.They played punk rock and ska. It isn't nusual that three gigs are on the same date, at least not here.
The prices are normal: 4,60 for a beer and the shots are under 5 as well. However this varies if you go in the night or the day, in the night it is some 40-60 cent more.Yesterday the charged me the day price at midnight, too. :-D
I went alone and just sat down to some folks, talked to them got some information where to go for ska and punkrock, but all in all the crowd seemed nice.

Aujourd'hui c'est mardi et ne passe rien. A l'ecole les profs ont felicite de succes. nous n'ont pas ecris le test d'anglais, parce que nous allons ecrire demain. Mais demain je vais avoir un match de water-polo et je ne vais pas ecrire le test.
Apres les cours je suis alle a la dunnes, un hipermarket et ou je cherche un lieu de travail. A la Dunnes il y a dix personnes comme moi, mais l'interview passe bien et j'espere pour la mieux.

Wow, at least something is happening again.
Today I had first class English, we are reading Othello at the time.I have to say I like Shakespeare.My second and third lessons are Religion with a coffee break in the middle.As usual we have a speaker; today it was Mr John Murphy, a wealthy and successsful Irish entrepeneur, I think one of the founder of Irish Life Insurance( I am not sure at this one).He had a speech on success and how we can achiebve it.There were plenty of interesting ideas; success should not be measured against others but to ourselfs: I may not be the best among everybody, but I can do my best, run my own best time, improve all the time, then I'm successful.You shouldn't work something which is not your passion, which does not brig you nearer to your goal, dream. We always have a choice, we can decide if we study or waste time and have bad results.If I decide the world is against me, it always will be, this is for 100%, but I can take the hard way and do something.
Anyway, this is the most I can remember, however, he was good.After this I had to go to the interview. Mr Murphy brought me and the teacher there( in a huge Lexus).My teacher is actually 23 years old and graduated from Marian 4 years ago.One of his former classmates is in repeating the Leaving Cert, seventh year, ad is even older than me.Now that means he teaches his older former classmate.Strange.
Ok, at the interview of the Rotary Club I met the two girls against whom I competed( I wasn't sure on this point, if we are against each other or we're all in the next round). They looked hot, but I forgot to ask for their number.Sh*t.
We all had the interviews and the lunch after it.After the lunch the meeting of the Rotary Club begun and one part was to announce the winner. At first the two girls stood up and beacause I was pretty nervous at the time I thought they two won, but it turned out, no, I DID. I WIN.I was the first student ever got to the interviews from Marian College, and won; 100E for the school, some money for myself and Rugby jerseys for the teacher and myself.Great day.I'm happy, extremely.Everybody congratulated me and it was just elevating.So I came home.Here I printed some CVs of mine and went to Dun Laoghaire and looked for a job. I gave the papers to the cinema, Burger King and pubs.Let's hope, fingerscross.

On Friday nothing happened , we watched three movies(TripleX, Lammbock, Dawn of the dead) at one of the german lads home, nice Friday evening.

Good Luck Chuck
Ok, i'm sure many will not agree with me on the rating of this movie.I could laugh on the jokes and it entertained me.The movie may not cause any exceitment about how it will end, but still it was worth watching it.
1985 and little Chuck gets cursed because not fulfilling the sexual desires of a girl.The curse means he won't be happy and every woman he has sex with will marry the next guy.In 2007 Chuck has grown to be a handsome young dentist, with an amazingly cool car( if anybody finds out what type, I'd appreciate).Now the curse seems t come true and as he himself recognizes this and all the young and beautiful women in town do, he has no loney night. He finds somebody he even likes and to avoid loosing her, he refuses sex.As Chuck and his nimphoman friend test that the curse isn't real we see a hotter scene than in Team America(just kidding, Mr Sarcastic strikes again).His friend cheated in the test though and they ravel to the grown up witch to get the curse undone.BUT no, the beloved her already leaves to Antarctica with another biologist, running to the airport, kissing on the plane. Happy End.
Now I'm bad at outlining the plot, but still beside the cliches mentioned above there are jokes enough to get you laugh.The childhood friend working next door as plastical surgeon specialised on breasts and at the end......or the girl always doing things wrong or....
Still Chuck needs luck to be a good movie, depends on every individual.

Dieser film hat mich im geringsten interessiert, kannte ihn nicht, lag einfach unten im Wohnzimmer rum und da dachte ich mir; warum nicht, pourquoi pas, wie es mir von meiner Franzosischlehrerin beigebracht wurde.
Also es gibt ein Detektiv, kennt die Tricks, Politik ist ihm egal, hat private Probleme, wie wir das schon alle schoen kennen. es gibt noch die Politiker und der bose Banker.Da kommen dann die kluge Bankrauber, und es wird alles kompliziert.die sind Profis, wollen aber kein Geld und die Flashbacks zeigen das Verhoer von den entfuehrten Leuten.Das Ende erzaehl ich lieber nicht, nur auf Anfrage aber ....
Ich hatte einfach das Gefuehl nicht das ich jetzt wirklich fuer die Safecracker bin und deswegen gefiehl mir die Ende auch nicht.Die schauspielerische Leistung von Denzel Washington oder Jodie Foster ist sehr gut , bei Clive Owen kann man's schwer beurteilen da er fast immer Maske tragt.
Entschuldigung aber mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen, will eher nicht.

Salut!
Pourquoi est-ce que j'ecrit en français?Parce que je suis un frimeur.Je ne parle pas tres bien, mais je vais chanter mon jour.
Je me levai a huit heures et fis petit déjeuner pour moi. Naturell c'a ete Kebab.A onze heurs je suis parti est je suis arrive a l'havre apres trente minutes. Le vent a été plus fort, environ six Beaufort mais j'aime un vent common ca. J'ai dú faire de la voile avec la Topaz aujourd'hui. C'est un esquif pour trois personnes et un petite vieux. Mon équipe n'est arrivé pas de midi á un heure et quand elle est arrivé le captaine a dit leur aller á la maison. Mois je suis allé á l'eau seul. C'a été difficile mais j'ai eu un temp genial: l'esquif est trés rapide et je elle adore.La course a enlevé mais j'ai eu un bon jour.

I did not live at the time grindhouse cinemas existed, and neither do I know anybody ever visited one of these. For those who ask themselves the question right now; What's he talking about, Grindhouse is the cool movie by Tarantino I just watched with my emo friends because it is so cool not like Transformers I would have enjoyed much more but let's don't be mainstream we watched this.(I know none of my steady readers is like this), but for those who on't know what grindhouse is: Grindhouse cinemas played old(1-2 years)movies for a very cheap price but at a very low quality as well as the tapes were already used many times(I hope this is right). Later on these cinemas developed into the places which played porn movies and were most likely to find at train stations, quality and price stayed low. Tarantino and Rodriguez wanted/tried to show this to the youth of today and remind the adults on these times, at least I think so.Let's see if Rodriguez succeeded, I've seen Death Proof as well but months ago.
The movie's story is simple: A small city in the South (Texas) where some evil general accidentaly releases a biological weapon, which turns those who get in contact with it into zombies. They are called sicko-s , I'm wondering if this should remind us on the new documentary of Moore but suppose not, interesting coincidence though. Now there is a small group of people who do not turn into flesh eating zombies and fight.
The plot is 70's style, The camera movement is it as well.The colours aren't, they are magnificant and I love it.Not as much as those from Sin City, but they have their own atmosphere, too. There is a gap in the movie where a text comes up that the cinema apologieses that the film is in bad condition and this part cannot be played.This is a deadly feature.We have a nearly same thing in Death Proof( The two were realeased together in the USA).I enjoyed the movie and advice everybody to watch it, maybe even buy it folks, I will. There is a strange sense of humour in the film, but if you don't find it funny, you won't even notice it.

Friday and Saturday
My Friday was pratty cool.I knew I will only have 3 lessons, because we had a basketball game. But in the first lesson I was told that I'm in the next round of the Youth Leadership Development Competition, the program for which the interview was on wednesday or something. At the basketballgame we played well, everybody of the tem did a good job, but we were unlucky and lost by one pointagainst the same team we beat on monday by 17 points. I had waterpolo training after the basketball game and got home exhausted. I planned to go out but at the end I stayed home and watched two movies.
The question here is how? I love to watch movies, but am too lasy to download them and don't have the money to buy every single one or go to cinema every second day. The friend of my host mother showed me a trick: watch movies online.You practically do not download them onto your hard disc, just watch them like on youtube. Bloc Party
I got my Bloc Party tickets online at www.ticketmaster.ie for 41,25E a normal price here. This was some weeks ago. The concert was in Phoenix Park, in the Big Top tent.
How to get there? Take the DART or any other way of transport to Tara Street (pretty much in the centre) and there are special buses.The return ticket costs 5E, there is only return.The bus will take you right to the entrance of the concert.
When to go there?We had great bands before Bloc Party: Biffy Clyro, Foals and if you go early enough as I did you get into the pit. This is the area right in front of the tribune.
Why Dublin?Because the crowd here is amazing.Everybody sings and goes crazy.Many bands do their DVDs here because this is the best audience.
Bloc Party?Th e frontman Kele Okere is shy if it is about interviews but here he easily jumped into the crowd. They delievered a great mixture of thei two albums; Silent alarm and A weekedn in the city. With only two records they attract thousands of people and created a sound which would go down well in a live venue or on the dance floor. Okre talked pretty much talking between the songs but this just fired us up.someone throw an Irish flag on the stage, then everybody freaked out. Technical problems( the keyboard didn't work) ruined the original encore but the group delievered another one.Ithink this is excellent performance and until now I didn't hear any bad critics. Songs I liked the most: The Prayer, Banquet, Helicopter, Blue Light, Waitong for the 7.18, Hunting for witches, Where is home.....

Let'as summarize: I had a great time in Hungary. I would better not give any advice if one should go back in his/her mid-term break, my individual experience was good.
I arrived back on Friday evening and spent my Saturday home. In the evening I headed out for Bloc Party, let's just say it was amazing.

Mindenkitől bocsánat hisz nem írtam 6 teljes napig.Miért?Lusta voltam, volt hála az égnek dolgom és hazajöttem.
Még kint nem volt érdekesebb történés, szombat hajnalban hazarepültem.
Itthon a salád fogadott megünepeltük apukám szülinapját, kellemes családi hétvége.Vasárnap este megnéztem a legjobb barátom szalagavató próbáját és dumáltnk egyet.
Hétfőn orvosi bizonyítékát kaptam annak hogy az alkohol leviszi a vércukorszintet: blokkolja ugyanis a májnak azon funkcióját hogy cukrot lökjön a vérbe.Yessssssss.
Mentem iskolába ahol mindenki nagyon örült nekem, ami jól esett.nagyon, szeretem a jófejbéslányokat.És az osztályomra is örömmel tekintek vissza.A nap folyamán még elmentem az OMbe meg az MNBbe, ezaz.
Este Caveman, talán kedvenc színházi darabom. Itt megismertem a legjobb barátom barátnőjét, nos kedves szép és aranyos, tudom irigyelni a mázlistát.Ma láttam a mozgólépcsőn de messzeföldönhíres rossz arc és névmemóriám bizonyított; nem voltam biztos benne ő lenne az, csak mosolyogtam és megjegyeztrem magamban milyenjó nő.
A teganpi nap fontos történése volt hogy találkoztam a portugál barátommal és magyar barátnőjével, ki nekem nagyon jó barátom.A barátom nem tudta hogy én is Budapesten vagyok, nagyon jó volt.Este vízilabda edzés, utána West Balkán.Ma város egy kis suli és most megyek lőni aztán pedig éjszaka raszta party.Érdekesség hogy a vendéglátó anyukám zenéjét hallgatom; Arcade Fire, meg sok más heavy metal, rock.Ma megvettem az Omega 1968-as CD-jét; angol nyelvű és remek, tényleg tetszik.

summary
Monday:Basketballgame at Trinity College Dublin, we lost.Mostly I think because of our selfish "star" player not passing but sometimes even shooting from a 180 turn flying sidewards. I scored some and made a great block, may not be my best performance but I and the trainer were satisfied with my defense.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: nothing special except for my dad's 50th birthday.We had an inspector at the school and she was very impressed with me, my english teacher told me. My grades are getting better: 68 adn 70% in english tests and A1 and A2 in History.Next week is Mid-term break and I fly back to Hungary.I really feel like it would be Friday.

redZ ist ein Club/Disco auBerhalb von Templebar.Es ist auf dem O'Connor Street genau an der Bruecke uebers Liffey.entrittsgebuehr ist 10 E was hier absolut normal ist, ein Bier ist zwischen 4-5E, auch normal. Die Decke im Untergeschoss ist ca 2m 20 mach aber einen geilen Eindruck. Musik ist mainstream; Kanye West, the Fratellis, Madonna...
Wie die meisten Bars und Club hier war dieser auch voll. Es ist wirklich davon abhängig was fuer Musik man magt.

Gestern aber!!
20:16 losgehen, nach sms und telefon Gesprächen war mein erstes Ziel Dun Laoghaire Soutern Pier. Mein deutscher Kumpel berichtete von 15 Leuten, ich habe mir was zum trinken gekauft und noch vier Mädels invitiert.Die sagten nein. An unserem Platz waren dann die Leute auch da.Hanging out, down the street, the same odd day, as we did last week. Nach einer halben Stunde (ow es schon offensichtlich war, dass das spanische Madchen das mir gefiel mein Kumpel gerne hatte) war ich ein bisschen gelangweilt. Ich hatte eine Einladung zum Geburtstagsfeier von einem Siebtklassler. DART nach Pearse mund weil er nur eine Stunde später in die Stadt konnte los ins Temple Bar. Ein pint Guiness im pub, rumlaufen.Ich sah Polizisten auf Pferden, die aber enorm groB waren und ein Maybach. Die Tuersteher hier sind in vielen Faellen Schwarze und ein Kopf groesser als ich, zweimal so breit und tragen brille. Sie sind sehr hilfsbereit und kriegen ihr Kaffe oder meistens asiatsches Essen bei zur Tuer gebracht.Dann irgendwannmal treffen am eingang von Trinity College. Die anderen waren im club alle raus und rueber zum anderen wo aber Eintritt nur ueber 21 erstattet war. Die Madchen in der Grupe sahen sehr gut aus.Zurueck und dann bis 2:00 tanzen, Madels anmachen und bisschen trinken.
Nachtbus habe ich locker gefunden in meinem Fall ist es das 7N von Trinity College.Es kostete mir 4E bis nach Shankill, mit dem Taxi wäre es um 25 gewesen. die Busse sind sauber und schnell und schoen. Die fahren jede Stunde glaub ich. Um halb 3 war ich Zuhause.

P.S.:und heute habe ich erfahren dass mein deutscher Freund mit der Spanierin rumgeknutscht hat, aber jetzt am morgen Schluss gemacht.

Laser Vago review
I have tried the Laser Vago for the first time in a 2-3 Beaufort from West-South-West at Dun Laoghaire (Kingston) harbour, Ireland. I was together with a pretty much unexperienced woman, but had a great time. I'm 190 cm and about 78 kg. I did not have a trapez vest but had no problems.
The different strings and sheets can cause a huge mess in the front, but with enough experience in te boat (10-15 hours I guess, but we'll see later) it is no problem. I had enough space as crew and the gip is easy to handle. The spinakker is beautiful and I had no problem although have a lack of experience with spinakkers and blisters and whatsoever. First we forgot to roll up the gip but later we did and it means a lot. I advice everybody to train the movement of roll up the gip, pull up the spinakker and roll it down and pull out the gip. And in this order, important.
Later I got into the place of the skipper and had great fun. The acceleration, handling, top speed are all very well gauged. I sometimes had problems when tacking, because the rudder was stopped by the main sheet, just pay attention and everything will be fine.
If you are not interested in racing then better forget about the Vago, but if you are and you like to trim and play around with the little gadgets on the boat then you'll enjoy every moment.

It was a heavy night
Saturday was a nice day, but let's begin with my Friday night.Dun Laoghaire, harbour, pier, drinks. Nice time. I met different students like a boy from Mexico, born in Texas and speaking a totally different spanish than the others. We had somebody from Brazil, two french girls and spanish girls from Mallorca. It was pratty international. On Saturday sailing was announced. And it happened. I sailed a Laser Vago.I had a great time, especially when I was the skipper, because then the ship showed how amazing his handling and speed is.Afterwards we went to the nearby pub called the purty kitchen.It is one of Dublin's oldest pubs and has both food and drinks.The prices are normal; beer is 4E. You can order at the pult or at one of the waitresses. Although I advice to only order at the table as they forgot about one of my meals but the crab claws were good. It is a big pub, has music and dancefloor upstairs. There is a Purty Kitchen in Temple Bar as well, the former Bad Bob's, I think.I hoped to go out with the spanish to Temple Bar but couldn't reach one of them and the other one does not really speak english and later he didn't take the calls either.I stayed and watched A beautiful mind.danaP.S.:http://www.purtykitchen.com/P.S.2:i have my bloc party kitchen

I have heard about the movie many times and seen parts of it sometimes.
It is better not to know the plot of the movie before you see it. So if you have not seen it yet, STOP READING.
The interesting point is how they play with the situation of the viewer. We see the world as John Nash does and do not recognize his illness until he does. It is a bit shocking how this man was destroyed. The movie not only deals with hsi mind, but with the methods of the government and the mental hospitals of the time. I'm sure the visit of the old friend was there to show how stigmatic such a situation can be, and that many people, believed to be friends, turn away.
After he became aware of his illness and dealt with the situation. Not only by relying on the doctors and medicines but ignoring the illusions. He sure has a strong mind as he does not take the medicines when he does not fell like it.

What happens in Cork, stays in Cork
I should summarize two days now and as my Friday wasn't too interesting yet I just go backwards.
Today practically the only point worth mentioning was that I can do Hungarian as foreign language in the Leaving Certificate.Yessss, another 100 points and 5 free classes in the week, because that means I can drop Geography.
Yesterday we had the basketball game.I got up 5:20 to catch the 6:00 DART, which as I, and 5 other people from the team found out does not exist. I had the information from one of the neighbours. When we got to Heuston train station, late, we saw that the train to Cork leaves at 9:00.some have been there on time and spotted it.Then the trainer arrived at 7:53 and told us that there is another train at 8:00.actually there is a train every hour. So we got on the train and headed out for victory. The trip was great fun, one of the guys (from Zimbabwe) never saw a cow before, though we can not decide if he was kidding or he really never saw one.
In Cork we palyed and lost. Losers excuses, but i have to say; most of the team did not do what the trainer told them and one guy made a one-man-show (24points).He is a great player having a scholarship to the US and the UK and Spain, but selfish.I told him once during the game: slo w down, as I was behind him and totally free and he was like Shut up and get out of the way.After a while I did not do anything else than taking rebounds, but I did my job well.Unfortunately I only scored about 2 or 4. So they won with an organised offense not like our one, without passes. It was the All Ireland Cup for as, because it is a Knock Out system. We actually had brand new gear, we opened it from the bags before the game.Looks great.Next stop: Dublin League. W e missed our train at 14:30 because our coach was late, and the remaining hour we spent in Cork, went to some kind of leisure center, games and stuff. We catched the train at 15:30 and came home at 6 or something. We had the weirdest conversation ever: In some 5 minutes from the statement "I don't go to the first three classes tomorrow." we got to te issue how people use the toilet in space and especially mutant people.Crazy. One of the captains is a magician and he entertained us, too. On the corner of my street some lads were sitting and one of them throw a banger to my feet. I heard the the girl saying, that's unnecessary and saw it rolling.Afterwards I turned arouned and they ran away.They were six guys of my age.Nobodies.

I watched out of the window and saw a police car on our driveway.I went down to make me sandwiches and imagine who I met in the livingroom; a Garda (police) officer and a trainee.I was pretty surprised, but they were leaving so when I came up to fetch my camera they left. I woke up, but late. The floor was cold, I took my wife's scuffs, went down, turned on the coffee machine and begun to make breakfast for the kids.My wife woke them up and when they got down the bread was ready. I drunk my coffee and dressed up, drove them to the school and headed out to my Manhattan office.I picked up some Double Super Size Quarter Pounder Big Mac with Cheese and another coffee. I was listening to some radio station while sitting in the traffic jam.
I got in at about half an hour ago and travelled up to my 82nd floor office.I tried to sneak in that my boss does not see me, but he waited in my office, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT; IN MY OFFICE!!!. so while he was jelling a me I imagined him being an alien and did not hear anything alse than grubhanghrrrhubanghsshtruff.And than; BANG and everybody begu to cry and shout and I ran to the window, making my boss just getting angrier. He obviously did not hear that sound as he is a bit deaf. Stnading at the window I looked down and saw absolutely nothing special. I recognized everybody ran to the other side and there was something unordinary. Flames and smoke were bursting out fro the other tower. An airplane crashed into it, I took pictures with my cellphone; hoped they're gonna look cool on Youtube.
At this point i went to the toilet because of the coffees and phoned to different people afterwards, just like veryone else, asking the silly question; "did you see it?".Of course they did. It was very much more excitement than fear.

I got in at about half an hour ago and travelled up to my 82nd floor office.I tried to sneak in that my boss does not see me, but he waited in my office, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT; IN MY OFFICE!!!. so while he was jelling a me I imagined him being an alien and did not hear anything alse than grubhanghrrrhubanghsshtruff.And than; BANG and everybody begu to cry and shout and I ran to the window, making my boss just getting angrier. He obviously did not hear that sound as he is a bit deaf. Stnading at the window I looked down and saw absolutely nothing special. I recognized everybody ran to the other side and there was something unordinary. Flames and smoke were bursting out fro the other tower. An airplane crashed into it, I took pictures with my cellphone; hoped they're gonna look cool on Youtube.
At this point i went to the toilet because of the coffees and phoned to different people afterwards, just like veryone else, asking the silly question; "did you see it?".Of course they did. It was very much more excitement than fear.

Normal day.English test is 58 % the best in class 76%.I found a Takeaway near to the school.After schoool I've been to the city, just took a look.My classmates are I think more annoted by my wuestions then understanding.I think they found it interesting what I ask, because it is normal to them but new to me.they are together since 6 years and I'm the freshman, everybody is an individual, not like at younger age.I'll keep trying to find out about partys and so on.

Tipp: Nachtbus kostet ca.2 E, und Bus kostet sowieso viel weniger.
Mit dem Auto muss man fuer viele StraBen Gebuehr bezahlen.
Beim DART nicht vergessen: nicht nur die Autos fahren auf der anderen Seite, die Zuege auch.
Was ich im weiterhin noch im Blog zeigen werde werden meine Zeichnungen.
In Gaelic heiBt Guten Tag: diu git!(man sprichts so aus).

Wenn jemand nach Irland kommt sind hier einnge Sachen die vielleicht wichtig sein kennen:
Das Land ist teuer.Ein pint Bier kostet 4E aber Platze wo es 6 E kostet sind auch leicht zu finden.Das Monatsticket fuer das DART fuer Studente ist 63 E.
Die Steckdosen sind anders!!Ein Adapter kostet 5 E, also es ist nicht die Ende der Welt, aber besser aufpassen.
Alkohol wird unter 18 Jahren, manchmal unter 21 Jahren nicht verkauft und das wird auch eingehalten.
Letzte DART aus der Stadt fährt ab um 23:20, Richtung Bray. Auf dem DART ist es normal auf dem Boden zu sitzen.
Man wuerde glauben als ein reiches Land ist es auch sauber.Nein.Und die Werbekampagne läuft ueberall "If you behave like a piece of filth that's how the world sees you."
There are two main free newspapers Metro and Herald am.It doesn'tcost anything to smile and say Good morning! to those people staying there and hand the papers.
To watch the Rogby game or better the GAA go to the local pub.There is no point going to Temple Bar or whereever.every pub has a plasma screen or even projector.And the atmosphere.

a weekend in hell
It can't be real.It's 14:54 and I'm back from "sailing" as there was not enough wind.But let us stick to the timeline.
Yesterday I me with the Spanish in Dun Laoghaire at 10pm.Tere are a lot of Spanish here in Kiliney and Dun Laoghaire, about 10 seniors(4-5th year in school).The funny intermezzo was tat when I arrived the Spanish girl staying together with the Hungarian girl left.Obviously because I asked her out on a date and she said no and then we can't even meet?LoL.This is exactly what I did, laughing.Afterwards we waited for the bus to go over to Killiney.When the bus arrived I realised I do not have coins with me and there is no change o the bus, so two Spanish from my school and a girl stayed anyway, and so did I to try to get some change.At the end we did not follow the group but stayed in DL and drank a beer.Icame home by the last DART.
Today I woke up at ten and went to sailing.I saw there is no wind but I went.We were about 7-8 people, met realisede there is no point, mounted and dismounted the boats to gain some experience and over.

The yesterday evening did not go very well. The musical ended late and because of that the afterparty propably only began between 23:30 and midnight so the german fella and me returned to Shankill at 23:30.Met some drunken girls and some very nice one on the DART, tou know it is always interesting to travel on the late night bus or train or whatsoever.
This night I'm hopefully going out with the spanish couple.
I was at Whiterock and Killiney today, just to take a look at it.Gorgeous.

Friday
Today I woke up and went to school, never been late yet.Yesterday was the parent teacher meeting and obviously no one from me went.The teachers told me what they would have said to my parents and it is pretty impressive.The geography teacher said he thinks I am capable of more than the 54% and I was happy.And it just got better as the history teacher told me I would get A1.Later i had two free classes and did not have to hand in my English essay, so I've borrowed the one of one of my classmates and took ideas.It looks easy now.The waterpolo training was OK.
right now I'm looking forward to go to the afterparty of the musical the Hungarian girl's school presented.Or I go to the city with the german guys and party tere.Sailing will be on Sunday.

Hi!
Yesterday nothing special happened, pretty normal day.The important and very positive affair was the announcement of the basketball coach; we go to Cork next Thursday to play our first game in the All-Ireland-Cup.On the way back I got off the DART and spent some time in Dun Laoghaire and had heavy raining.We did neither get back our English nor our Geography test yesterday.
But we did today, at least the geogrpahy one. As I said I didn't have enough time and as a cause of that I got 54% but for the questions I did I got almost the maximum points. The geography teacher thinks I'm doing well and is satisfied with my accomplishment.
Today school finished earlier due to the parent-teacher meeting.
Today is the birthday of a boy from class but he doesn't have a party (or they just didn't tell me, which propably is not the case), he just goes to a concert with friends and paintballing, but not everybody goes from the class as well because they just didn't reserve for enough people.
Tomorrow I'll go to the city or any other party.

Hallo Leute!
Also nach dem schrecklichen Samstag kam ein Sonntag wo nichts anderes abging als das rugbyspiel Irland gegen Argentinien.War ziemlich spannend aber wie erwartet hat Irland verloren.Ich habe das Spiel mit einem der deutschen Jungs im Pub (Brady's) angeschaut.
Soviel dazu.
Am montag dachte ich, ich wäre spät dran am Morgen, es ging aber flott.Bis jetzt war ich keinesmals zuspät, was bei mir komisch ist.Hier wenn man sich verspätet muss man zum Principal gehen und man kriegt ein Stempel mit Rot wo LATE und Datum draufstät.Und das ist ab verspätung mit einer Minute so.Du wirst einfach nicht reingelassen ins Klassenraum falls du zuspät bist und kein Stempel oder Entschuldigung hast.
Also ich kam gluecklich an und hatte die erten vier Stunden im Raum Nr. 14 (Englisch-Religion-Religion-Englisch).Ich hatte Basketball Training im Mittagspause und der von mir nicht geliebte Erdkunde Lehrer kuendete ein Arbeit fuer heute an.
Nach der Schule hatte ich Wasserball Training und es kam raus das der Bruder von einem der Jungs skimboardet und kennt surfers.Freut mich.
Heute bin ich um 7:33 aufgestanden bin aber doch puenktlich angekommen.Wir haben das Erdkunde Test geschrieben aber ich hatte keine Zeit es zu beenden.Wir haben dann später ein Ueberraschungstest in Englisch geschrieben, hatte wieder keine Zeit.
Soviel bis jetzt.

As Csép referred to it I was pretty disjointed in my posts, he used the word incoherent but nevermind.Anyway, I am like that but let's try to follow a timeline.
I woke up before ten o'clock and got up at ten.Everyone else was sleeping and while having my breakfast (pictured) Darren arrived.
I phoned Jo, a member from the sailing club if there is sailing today and there was but from eleven.The change occurred yesterday and I should have been informed about it but I was not.I phoned Jo at 11:19 and they were about to go out, so next week.
I stayed at home and did pretty much like nothing; read and watched the movie Freedom Writers, which is worth watching to everybody.
I mentioned yesterday that hopefully I can try surfing today.I went down to the beach at about the same time.Two lads were there but not the guy from yesterday, occasionally I found out his name; George.They didn't allow me to surf as they don't know who I am.I can understand, maybe I would not have done the same, but still normal reaction.
And this should not have been the end of my they after the plans, which contained a trip to Grafton street just to take a look at the nightlife, but I am bored enough to skip it and do it next week.
South Park is out in Gaelic, runs on TG4 and sound weird.It is at 6pm which means that the cursing is out.Gaelic sounds like English anyway.
I'm listening to Julie London, Nat King Cole and things like that right now.Both Bloc Party and Manu Chao come to Dublin during November and October.I found the sport skimboarding on the internet and looks cool, so it is attached to my list.

Tonga is right now getting beaten up by England.But at least they have cooler shirts.Today I had a normal day, wrote the maths test, let's see, I do not think it will be good.My english essays are 76%
and a C2.Tomorrow I'll hopefully have sailing.As I came home after the waterpolo training by DART I saw some lads surfing at Killiney beach and went down to watch how they get along.I talked to one of them and maybe(fingerscross!) I can try it tomorrow.I'm happy 'bout it.Richie moved out.I can not really stand one of the guys from shool, he's selfish and an idiot, but still he is the basketball team captain.
I'm furious about the situation in burma/myanmar.I knew that the goverment is going to react like this, didn't have high expectations when the minister for religious issues is a Brigadier General.FREE TIBET! was the slogan till now, hopefully it changes to FREE TIBET AND BURMA!

three free classes
yesterday I had a normal day.I had the german lesson and, well, so the other guys and the girls are beginners, like Ich heiBe und meine Hobbys sind.hopefully I don't have to attend these lessons just pass the exams.I've talked to my parents yesterday, too and the booked the flights for xmas and mid-term break.I considered the idea of switching over to the ordinary level geography class, but too many messers are there so Mr Kelly adviced me to stay in the hl.Today I had three free classes, the double geography and the history.We ad basketball taining today, just on our own.
Here are some naems I've already learned: O'Keefe, O'Driscoll, O'Donnell, O'Neill, O'Shaugnessy, O'Quickey, O'Hara, O'Mara.No more comes to my mind right now.Anyway weather got colder, but I like it.HALO 3 is out, and looks awesome, Epson has it and said it blows your head off.

normal day
Hi! Sailing was not bad.The people were like oh the wind is about 4 to 5 beaufort, too much, we could sail.But let's not.But when we went out, me with a 420 it wasn't bad, just that the bosss said I'll have a girl where he knows she can sail.well, she didn't have experience in big wind.So we ended up at the wall.Then Itook it and had a great time, till she fall into the water and we came out, though she had a wetsuit.Whatever, it was sailing at least.If I can find somebody who would do it like me than I could sail every weekend and participate in regattas.I met one of the sons of the final host family of Guillermo.He knows surfers and is cool.I'll keep in touch with him. Shenada is sick.Everything is fine, seeya Lads.

before sailing
Hi!
Sry, dass ich gestern nicht gepostet hab, schaute Jarhead.Ich hab einen Adapter fur die Steckdose.Gestern war es herrlich, wirklich wunderschon.Ich aB Doner am Hafen und schaute die Menge von Schiffen auf dem Meer, es schien die Sonne und Wind gabs auch, prima.Ich saB ca 40 minuten da.Spaeter auf dem Weg nach Hause mit dem DART sah ich viele Leute am Strand und ruf Timi an ob sie nicht zum Strand moechte.Ich hatte einfach kein Bock alleine zu gehen.Um halb sechs trafen wir uns und sie ging zwar nicht ins Wasser aber hatten einfach was zu tun.Mir gehts immer noch gut , Wetter ist rima, heut kommt noch ein post ueber segeln

second weekend
Hi!
Mr Harding said my essay is alright.I just finished apocalypto, not bad.I'm watching My name is earl right now.It got colder today, but I went swimming anyway.Tomorrow I'll call both the sailing guy, Jo and the waterpolo trainer.I didn't oday because I just want to sleep out and do all my homework.I feel alright, nothing special. A s I was jogging at the beach I saw some beautifulthings, will take a picture of it tomorrow or sunday.Fingerscross for Ireland.

I'm in the basketball squad as No.5, some in the tream say we could win the championship, let's do it.guillermo is maybe doin wel with Margarita.I bought a magazine; Classic Military Vehicle, not bad, think I'll buy one magazine every month.Important, Richie is moving out, had argument with his mom.I didn't call the waterpolo trainer yet, tomorrow.I bought myself copies today.What annoys me is that some of my classmates suck their noses (do you say it like this?) or spit on the ground.Its digusting.

Hi!
I had the basketball trials, and tomorrow I'll know the result.Britney's performance on the MTV VMA was really abd, I've seen it today.I got te package fro Hungary today, it only took one week to get here.I got some stuff I don't need, e. g. plastic soldiers.I bought myself the second pair of trousers at Grafton Street, but there are some really cool shops as well.That's it for today as i'm getting to get a life here I'll have less time to post so my posts will be shorter.

10TH DAY
i SPEAK A LOT OF GERMAN."i'M WATCHING KISS, KISS BANG, BANG"sry for the caps lock.had different courses today, the geography teacher reminded me not to belate, whatever I'm gonna drop geography as higher level and I had to talk to the math teacher.that man is awesome, the maths lessons are great, but its pretty difficult to me.W e had some women there who spoke abput applying for university in Ireland, she was nice but I hate her style, she's gonna help us during the whole year.I had waterpolo today at the school.The pool is bad; 25m, warm water and sometimes 1,5 meter deep, that sucks.I'm back from playing some rugy with garret, one of the three german guys staying in Shankill.I'm not sure if I can play rugby as well, I'll see.SHIT my monitor is like peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. its annoying.So that was it I'll see you later.
